Is Allah the One Who Does Not Hasten in Punishing, or the One Swift in Reckoning ?

Why does Allah not intervene in the oppression and injustices done in the world, is Allah the one who does not hasten in punishing, or the one swift in Reckoning? Is there a contradiction between the verses?

The various writings of certain atheist writings claiming that there is a contradiction between the expression that Allah hastens in punishing, told in Surah Al-An'am verse 165, and Allah’s attribute “HALİM” in Surah An-Nisa verse 12 are encountered especially in online discussion environments.

According to atheists there is an inconsistency between the content of Allah’s attribute Halim and the other verse. Because among the meanings of the attribute Halim there are meanings such as ‘’ one who does not hasten in punishing, who grants time for repentance ‘’. Since there is never a contradiction in Allah’s word the Quran, what is the correct giving of meaning to these two verses, let us now look at that…

Surah Al-An'am Verse 165;

Ve huvellezî cealekum halâifel ardı ve rafea ba’dakum fevka ba’dın deracâtin li yebluvekum fî mâ âtâkum, inne rabbeke serîul ikâbi ve innehu le gafûrun rahîm(rahîmun).

1. ve huve ellezî : and He it is, who
2. ceale-kum : made you, rendered you
3. halâife el ardı : the caliphs of the land, of the earth
4. ve rafea : and raised
5. ba’da-kum : some of you, a part of you
6. fevka : above, over
7. ba’dın : some, a part
8. deracâtin : degrees
9. li yebluve-kum : in order to test you
10. fî mâ : with things, concerning things (in the matter of)
11. âtâ-kum, : gave you
12. inne : surely
13. rabbe-ke : your Lord
14. serîu : swift, the one who is quick
15. el ikâbi : ikâb, punishment
16. ve inne-hu : and surely He
17. le gafûrun : certainly the one who forgives
18. rahîmun : the one who sends the light of mercy

Its translation :It is He who has made you successors to those before on the earth. In order to test you with the blessings He has given, He has raised some of you above others by degrees. When your Lord gives punishment He gives it very rapidly. But He is truly very forgiving, very merciful.

The relevant part of Surah An-Nisa Verse 12…

75. min allâhi : from Allah, by Allah
76. ve allâhu : and Allah
77. alîmun : alim, the one who knows best
78. halîmun : halîm

Translation of the relevant part :……. This is a recommendation from Allah. Allah is Alîm, is Halîm.
——————————————————————-
With the name Halim, it means that Allah accepts repentances and can forgive some of the sins, that the rudeness of those who do not know how to show respect and the unruliness of rebels do not anger Him and do not push Him to haste, that He is very patient, that His wrath upon sinners does not throw Him into a flurry, that He does every work to the extent required. Allah’s being halîm is interpreted by the ignorant as being unaware of what goes on, and by those whose insight is bound as not seeing. Yet the attribute Halim is manifested only in this world.

As for Surah Al-An'am verse 165, it now speaks of the dimension of the hereafter, and there Allah is the one who is quick in reckoning and punishing. The answer to the misplaced criticisms of certain people who cannot duly give meaning to Allah’s attribute Halim, of the form why does He not intervene, why does He not prevent, while there is so much oppression, injustice, torture etc. in the world, also passes through understanding this situation.

Allah will give the FULL recompense of every situation occurring in the world in the dimension of the hereafter. Because Allah is Just. The creator of the concept of justice is also He…So, in the first verse it is told that Allah’s punishing in the hereafter is very swift. And the attribute Halim told in Surah An-Nisa verse 12 is directed at this world. There is no contradiction between the two verses either. Indeed, this is exactly what is told in Surah Fatir verse 45…

If ALLAH were to punish people because of what they have done, He would leave no creature on the earth. But He postpones them until a certain term. When their term ends, then ALLAH sees to (the reckoning of) His servants. …. (Surah Fatir, 45)
