19 Мутацией называют изменение, возникающее в генетическом коде живого организма. Радиация и некоторые химические вещества относятся к факторам, вызывающим мутации. Эволюционисты утверждают, что живые существа эволюционировали, подвергаясь мутациям. Однако все мутации вредны, и их действие сводится лишь к тому, что они калечат живые существа. Утечка радиации в Чернобыле — одно из свидетельств вреда мутаций. После этой катастрофы у множества людей были отмечены различные болезни, такие как рак крови, а также тяжёлые и необратимые нарушения, например врождённые уродства.
